1986 PEUGEOT 205 GTi 1.6 69000 Miles - 1 Owner From New Unrestored Original Survivor Signature Cherry Red Investment Classic D761 TVO First registered on 04.11.1986. The car was sold by ‘Nottingham Car Centre’ a Peugeot main dealer at the time to a Mr Roughton (now sadly passed) of Nottingham and has never changed hands since. Surviving him, his son stored the car with sympathy and never used it. One owner and zero previous owners. The panels are all factory original, it has never had any paint work, its never been bumped so none of the panels have ever had cause to be removed so the fit and gap is factory. It performs well, the years have not blunted it at all. It still wears its original supplied number plate from new front to rear, all the glass is original and number etched, genuine period supplied stereo. Rare stuff indeed. This example will be hard to replicate with total originality and its complete factory specification, the temptation to alter anything over the years has been wholly resisted. Chassis : VF3741C6607479679 Engine : 1CT62011290 (note - Non power steering model, manual windows and mirrors, no sunroof) The 205 GTi A spectacular hot hatch and for may the definitive. The fabulous 1.6-litre unit is as hot to drive today as it was back then, it is a genuine pleasure to experience the sheer zest of this car’s pick up as it responds so faithfully to the accelerator, the brakes feel reassuring, but it’s the sheer joie de vivre of this car’s cornering ability that sets it apart. Driving the car on a B road displays its firm grasp of perfect weighted steering as it rips and flows in a linear motion, the chassis flexes and returns beautifully and for me the non power steering model is the more undiluted version. Rising Classic The responsive 1.6-litre engine and basic trim level is the lightest specification possible and also benefits from a stiffer non-sunroof shell. Don't confuse this with less desirable later versions often fitted with enormous sunroofs, catalytic converters, electric windows and other weighty equipment. This car is a far superior driving experience and as such much more collectable. Other Information I have the original service manual showing the car was in regular use until 1996 when it was serviced at 53,182 Miles. We believe it was shortly after this time that the car was taken off the road and put into the late Mr Roughton’s garage then never left. It had a fresh service and starts and drives very well indeed. The condition of the body/underside is again remarkable for a car of this age. I cannot find any areas that look to have been painted, welded or repaired in the past. Vehicle Summary Tines have changed but this car has not, and it looks reads and drives wonderfully. Great wee investment example to be exercised and stored with sympathy. * HPI Clear in every respect * New mot to accompany * Owners Wallet * Service book * Two keys * Spare wheel * Parcel shelf * Rubber mat set |
