1998 SAAB 9000 CSE ANNIVERSARY 2.3 FULL PRESSURE TURBO 200 BHP AUTO 94OOO Miles - 10 Saab Dealer & Specialist Service Stamps Heated Seats - Cruise - 10 Disc Clarion Incredible Original Survivor R815 VLB Registered and delivered on 20th February 1998 by Viking Saab in Watford to a Mr Harrison of Borehamwood who owned it more than 10 years. Driven nearly all its days by mature gentleman and ones who were prepared to spend on it taking it routinely to recognized professionals. This must be one of the very last 9000 models ever registered given that the 9-5 replacement was already being registered on R plates. What sets this car apart is the condition and the fact it has never been serviced by anyone other than the right people, a total of 10 service stamps are present in the service booklet alongside a thick wad of bills. Wearing its genuine factory paint it has never been bumped or had anything changed from factory spec. Both keys with both remotes, owners wallet with all handbooks, everything down to the original radio code is present. The car has been garaged, never smoked in and not had any abuse, this has preserved it remarkably well. The Swansong Anniversary The range’s swansong was the Anniversary, so named because it coincided with the maker’s 50th Anniversary. Engine options remained unchanged, with cars being offered with either of the light pressure (LPT) engines rated at 150 and 170 bhp respectively or the 2.3 FPT (200bhp) which is installed in this car. Smart new 8 spoke alloys complimented the Aero style body-kit that included colour coded wrap around bumper covers, sill extensions, front and rear spoilers and wheel arch moldings. The side moldings on the doors and front wings had black as opposed to the normal chrome effect inserts, in common with the Aero. An upgrade steering wheel with wood inserts gave the cars a special feel whilst leather seat facings in either rocky black (with suede inserts) or sand beige (with alpaca inserts) were standard, along with textile over mats. In addition this runout model has a Harman/Kardon stereo system with CD player and ten acoustically engineered speakers. Reflecting the maker’s aviation connection, seat backrests were embossed with the SAAB aeroplane logo. These models are now very rare and becoming highly collectable. Classic cars come and go but the appeal of some remains constant and none more so than the 9000 - the last real Saab say some of the marque's cognoscenti. Owning a late model Saab 9000 is an easy way to being different and this modern classic is one that anyone would be deeply proud to be the next custodian, its ready to be used and enjoyed and stored with sympathy. Body As unmarked as it is remarkable. It has a commanding presence in the flesh. The paint retains a deep glossy shine and is in superb condition all around and looking to mostly factory original. On close inspection there are no negatives to be found with only a few discreet blemishes . All of the panels are nice and straight, lining up as they should. Literally presents like a far younger vehicle with a true depth to paint, currently detailed to a very high standard with all the lines angles and quirks of the 9000 surely looking their best in Silver metallic. The plastic stone chip prevention is still in place at bottom of the sills front and rear further evidencing the originality of the paint. Cabin The interior of the 9000 is awash with period leather, the perfect contrast to the exterior paintwork. The chairs remain virtual as new, and supportive in a way seats will never be again. The rear seats look unused and the headlining is perfect. The A1 condition continues to the door cards, along the bottoms of the doors, the door shuts and A and B posts, along the dashboard, and all the rubbers none of which shows signs of age or damage. The centre console is the same, with no wear to any buttons or knobs. The carpets throughout remain clean and tidy and unspoiled. Whal. The wood is in first class condition also. Engine The engine bay presents remarkably well and is consistent with a car having done little mileage. Having been well maintained. Unsurprisingly the auto transmission shifts through the gears with ease and there are no shortcomings with anything, its an utter joy. Driving the car today one is reminded of just how well engineered they truly were, it fast, comfortable and silent, this 9000 will take you anywhere in style. Even by modern day standards this is a fast saloon. You may find many cheaper 9000 models however I doubt another one with such original condition and unspoiled service record exists. A special car....
