Foreword
I bought my first 944 twenty-one years ago. Since then, I have
worked my way through at least a hundred of them in all guises,
many of them I wish I had kept! Becoming very familiar with one
model creates a certain amount of experience.
Its easy to then to look at everything with cynicism, once you
see you can’t unsee, and all the imperfections that are glaring
to your eye are not to others. What one person deems acceptable,
rhymes differently every time. Classics 944 models preserved in
this condition are nigh on impossible to source now, even the
youngest car is thirty-five years since build date. The very low
mileage is accurate and is reflected in the lack of wear. This
is the one you promised yourself you wold always get.
G936 UYF
The car has resided in London nearly all its life until last
year. Changing owners from father to son in 2019, and again in
March 2025 when it was purchased by a car collector for his wife
in Scotland, though very few miles covered in it last summer.
First pre delivery inspected and registered by Charles Follet
Porsche London
on the 5th of January 1990. The V5 shows two owners which is
rare for
a 944 and this is a matching numbers car with no accident damage
that has covered a genuine warranted 80570 miles. All factory
labels are present as pictured, the important white label being
evident on the slam panel corresponding to that in the red
factory service booklet.
Two original keys, a leather tool roll with all tools, the spare
wheel, compressor, owner’s manuals, all in wonderful condition.
Highly original example with the temptation to alter anything
being resisted over the years. Barely used in recent years,
though sympathetically stored and keen observers will note a
stunning MOT history. A recent test is valid until April 2027.
What this car represents is a flashback in time to what one
could have had back in the 90s, completely up to speed with
mechanical servicing, pristine paint, perfect tyres and brakes,
and correct in so many fine details that only an aficionado to
the model will appreciate. The old saying of you get what you
pay for has never been more apt.
History & Servicing
The red book is intact with historic stamps, and all aspects are
completely up to date. In the last 1500 miles over £8500 has
been spent with virtually no use of the car since. In 07/2019
Jaz Porsche attended to many items as listed below. A summary is
below. The whole bill was £5280, imagine this would cost a lot
more now..
In 11/19 it was back to Jaz with another £3100 being spent on a
brand new
roof & tonneau being supplied & fitted, as well as a new fuel
level sender. Shortly after this a new Blaupunkt retro Bluetooth
stereo was fitted.
Condition
The engine and gearbox are utterly fantastic, the motor is
sparking
breathing and fuelling superbly with excellent oil pressure cold
through
hot. It presents superbly in and out with beautiful, unmarked
dashboard,
door cards, interior and carpets. Peel back the veneer and peer
further at
the sills and underside are excellent. Equally, the boot and
engine bay display an original car that has clearly never been
altered
or bumped with factory seams in place. Its super clean, if you
are into
a detailed car then this is it, like a new die cast toy. Many
detailed
images. Note, front and rear number plates never been drilled to
body,
very rare.
All the electrics work properly, the headlights, windows, heater
fan on
all speeds, no cracks in the dash, no trim missing, no worn
threads
on the steering wheel, original gear knob, no carpet trim in
footwells
tatty, the clock is perfect, the roof is of course as new in and
out.
Black is arguably one of the best colours for the Porsche 944,
the flat
non-metallic paintwork is truly stunning with virtually no
imperfections.
The interior carpets are very fresh. The leather is well fed and
again in
excellent condition having been well treated.
Peeling the carpet away in the boot reveals what looks like a
new car. I have
inspected the underside and was amazed at how clean and dry it
is with no
corrosion and needless to say, no leaks. Anyone would struggle
to source a
better 944 and one that is properly set up ready to be enjoyed.
This car will pass any inspection and reckon it to suit even the
fussiest
of standards.
Alloys/Tyres
The original D90s are in excellent order with no buckles or
repairs and retain
a nice level of finish. Matching Michelin Pilot Sport tyres
which
transform handling and grip.

Summary
This 944 S2 is a pleasure to own, as it has been routinely
maintained with
any worn/perished parts replaced with genuine parts, so it has
not been
blunted by time. The paint is a delight, its sharp, and it’s in
the details
that only some of the images will convey, that set this one
firmly ahead
of the tired and worn commonplace examples. A model that
continues to
appreciate, we feel that this stunning example low mileage is a
great classic
investment, should it be maintained & stored in the manner it
has then you
cannot lose money on this Porsche. Furthermore, it drives
sublimely.
