1988 Porsche 924 S 72,000 Miles File of History inc' all old Mot's Excellent retro mobile and a fantastic introduction to front engined Porsche ownership. Lovely period colours on display to embrace, it's amazing how colours fall in and out of favour with the more funky combinations raising in desirability as the model ages. This particular combo is as retro as it gets. 924 S S model with 2.5 engine as seen in the 924 (and one half of the 928's lump). Enthusiast keeper over the last 8 years and has been looked after well by his local specialist. Only 72,000 miles and in rather nice condition with a nice clean body and it drives great too. File of History File of history accompanies with nearly all the old Mot's and lots of historic paperwork. Service booklet and owners manual are present along with a A4 ringbinder containing all the old MoT's and paperwork. Body Fresh and credible condition all round, body is clean with little to speak of, paintwork is very good, there is no rust blisters, dents or scratches, it presents very well and the all important sills are 100% solid as they are brand new items. Both sides of the car were painted when the sills were done so it is lovely and fresh. It got new S decals at this time too. To note, the rear spoiler has a patina - or shall we say it is perished and showing age. A few stone chips to the nose. Couple of marks on the alloys. Cabin Really excels in the cabin. The carpets are all clean and or young unworn appearance. Steering wheels and gearshifter reflect the low mileage too. The trim itself is in great order, there is not a single item missing or broken, not a single screw cover or a carpet tack, everything is present and correct and all fabrics and bolsters are all in great order. The roof lining is perfect with none of the nasty swell or damp deform' that you see in so many other examples. Inside the boot is lovely, carpets fresh, all fixings present etc. Nice and fresh under the carpet and in the wheel wells too, it is hiding no previous repairs. Radio works, bonnet pull works, all electrics windows and roof, boot release, mirrors all work, it's all in good order. There are a couple of items that could be improved as follows.. To note, driver seat has a loose seam and requires stitching. Few cracks on the dashboard but by no means bad at all, just a few creapers started around the upper vents. There is a nick out the glove box needs gluing in (can be seen in the pics, I will do this). Engine Bay This is lovely and clean and fresh. Check back later, I will add pictures below at the bottom of the listing soon. The gas strus hold the lid up, there is no leaks and it is very clean and presentable. It runs perfectly, smooth and quite with a lovely sewing machine like precision whir. Upper bulkhead below the winscreen is so clean you could eat. No previous repairs, this is all original. It wants some work for MoT including brake and fuel pipes. Previously failed on sills which have been replaced, not with filler(!), but with brand new sills on each side and we have pictures of the work being done which I can forward upon request. We would also advise upon replacing the timing belt too as it overdue as far as time goes. Currently there is no MoT. Nice starter classic for someone, it drives 100% and has all it's power, amazingly there is not a knock or even a faint rattle from the any of the suspension components even on a bumpy road and not even any squeaky trim either, testament to the low mileage. The engine, 'box and clutch are all superb too, no disappointments at all. In summary, a superb condition solid rare 924 model with low miles, these are at the bottom of a huge curve right now and is sure to appreciate. With a little work completed this little 924S is a credible asset and better than cash in the bank. Any inspection welcomed. £5,495 |
