OAJ 593W
First registered on 18th February 1981 this is an early S2 model
with an
an 80-build date, I don’t recall seeing an earlier one, and all
the more
unusual in dog leg manual guise. Driver spec with and LSD and
non-sunroof.
At nigh on 44 years young its remarkably original and unspoiled.
Details
such as original supplied reg number remain, and its Blaupunkt
stereo.
This a matching numbers vehicle with original engine chassis and
gearbox.
A UK supplied C16 car. I have the full V5 showing 8 previous
owners and two keys. It's a historic vehicle so is MOT & tax
exempt though I had it testedto be sure and in excellent
underneath with no areas of structural concern, its completely
solid and tank like underside. MOTd October 25th 2025.
The GT Masterpiece
A Sports GT that requires no introduction, and arguably the best
GT car to
roll out of Stuttgart for many reasons, and for many the finest
interpretation of the 928 theme. For its time of truly towering
abilities and very few limitations.
This specific car is now rather desirable, the S2 with dogleg
manual gearbox is an unforgettable model and moving forward one
of the morecollectible. The 4.7 eight cylinder is layered with
character developing a considerable 310 bhp in manual guise,
however it was rumoured these units were actually pushing out
closer to 330 bhp.
The manual box brings the car to life, allowing the big engine
to breathe,
slurring through the gears offers a whole new dimension to
driving, its a
genuine muscle car experience. The S2 for me personally is the
best
compromise between the early and later revision. With more
aggression
than the early 928 but less bloated than the S4 and GT. Also,
the engine is
slightly less complex in maintenance terms.
History & Servicing
This 928 has never been in a bump, all panel gaps are perfect
and the doors open and shut beautifully with clean HPi. Looks
never to have had any of the panels removed. The odometer
stopped working at some point 2010/11 at 84322.
Fortunately, knowing the cars history across the last two
keepers I have been able to approximate the mileage at 87000
something. Covering only a few hundred miles in the last four
years it has benefitted from some use and a fair level of
investment in bills as detailed below. Coming direct to me from
a private collection of historic Porsches.
Tyres
The 16" slotted flat disc rims set the car off, and she wears a
matching set
of Bridgestones thick with tread. Of note the alloys retain
their original
anodised finish looking to be still from the factory.
