1990 Porsche 944 S2 Convertible
Original Superb Condition
Massive Service History
70,000 Genuine Miles

An Appreciating Model To Treasure
Water cooled is on the move, the Porsche used car market is as hot as this
car looks and it is very rare to find a Cabrio in such fine fettle, amongst the
most genuine 944s ever to pass through our hands, condition is everything. For
the last 6 years this car has belonged to dedicated Tipec owners (husband & wife)
who were both also regional organisers, to say it has been loved would be an
understatement. Both the history and care is nothing short of splendid.

First registered 12.10.1990 by AFN Porsche in Surrey and specified in timeless
classic Guards Red the colour is fantastic and for me is the iconic Porsche
shade. The service records make very good reading being maintained by OPC and
other independents. Accompanying the stamped service book is a rather impressive
folder of bills together with an tabulated document itemising all the monies spent
(pictured). The most recent keepers have been lifelong Porsche enthusiasts and
the car has attended regular shows as an entrant, Silverstone Classic, OPC
events and a drive to Classic Le Mans. You will not find a cleaner more original
Cabriolet anywhere with mainly original paint throughout.

Recent Maintenance
The car wants for nothing looking and driving exactly as it should thanks to
knowledgeable enthusiastic owners and those that are prepared to spend. The
engine power is very impressive and this is a sharp S2 to drive with quick
pick up, not surprising as the engine bay is superbly detailed and starts
quickly and is amongst the quietest smoothest running 3.0s I have seen or
heard about.

The all important cam belt and balance belt were changed last by Porsche centre
Bristol as detailed. Within the last few years I have set out below just
some of the more major points covered, this being the tip of the iceberg.
On a regular basis the owner has been visiting Porsche centre Bristol to have
a full inspection carried out addressing any points raised, proper preventative
care.

- 19.07.12 Oil & filter change, rear shock absorbers replaced 63217 miles
- 13.04.12 Mot 62465 miles

Other more historic work that has been carried out is detailed below, literally
too much to list however here is a brief summary.

- DME relay replaced
- Tracking set
- Water pump flange changed, bottom radiator hose, coolant change, cam & balance
belts checked, 62100 miles
- Steering shaft replaced, exhaust tip replaced
- New power steering pipe, PAS & alternator belt changed
- Gearbox oil changed, new brake flexi pipes 52889 miles
- Flasher unit replaced
- Exhaust mountings refitted
- Cooling fan switch replaced
- New spats
- Cam & balance belt change & gear linkage checked 26.01.04

This all backed up with original invoicing. As such this 944 is rather well set
up and is a turn key ready to perform Sports car that will fit into any collection
or be the main focal point of classic ownership.

Condition
The paintwork is truly stunning with little to no imperfections appearing all
original. A light detailing session reveals a truly immaculate example with
quality finish and no disappointing cosmetics. The alloys refinished recently
are flawless and beautifully diamond cut by Lepsons substantially adding to the
appeal, in the flesh the contrasting Black cut rims really compliment the Black
hood. All the black work and seals that can perish over time are in fine order.
The interior carpets to boot and floor are as new. The dash is in perfect
condition and all switchgear works as intended. The leather is well fed and
again in excellent condition having being well preserved. The engine bay is
extremely impressive and show worthy which is the general theme with the whole
car. Peeling the carpet away in the boot reveals how original it truly is as
the images all suggest. I have inspected the underside and was amazed at how
clean and dry it is with no corrosion and needless to say, no leaks. Anyone
would struggle to source a better 944 and one that is properly set up ready
to be enjoyed. This car will pass any inspection and reckon having handled
literally hundreds of 944s this will suit even the fussiest of standards.
