These are very few and far between making this a very rare colour. The colour did not become an option until 1991. There are other silvers (Zermatt, Linen, Rose) but each has a (champagne, gold, pink) shimmer to it, Crystal Silver code LY7T is proper silver - and it looks amazing! This is a 'loved' car, this is obvious from the outset. Condition is way ahead of average. How often have you travelled to see a car described well but when you arrive there is only disappointment? Not so with this example, this S2 will satisfy those with the highest of expectations. Read on and view the 150 high definition images below. Service History A file of history accompanies the service booklet. A total of 21 services all documented. A check of the MoT history shows no advises since 2007 and even that was just for headlight aim!! No history of corrosion, no history of poor keeping, this is a loved car. A total of £23,296 in bills within the file shows a lifetime of care and attention with no compromises. There have been 2 clutch changes and 5 belt(s) changes. The drive is nothing short of fantastic, it's lovely and tight without so much as a squeak from a bush, all the power is still there and the torque on offer pushes you into the seat from even a low rev in a high gear. Under the bonnet the engine looks lovely, a picture of health. The under bonnet light is working which is a very rarely seen detail as the bulb holders usually corrode. It starts instantly off the key with the characteristic 944 engine running sound. All nice and clean and the bonnet shut lines are perfect. All the black work and seals that can perish over time are in splendid order. All shut lines are perfect. No dents or scrapes or questionable paintwork. Sills are rot free entirely, open vent in the door frame and you can see they are preserved well with applied underseal. Correct stone guard finish to the sills and a clear set of vinyl stone guards in perfect order. The sill trims that are unique to the S2 (and Turbo) are present and they fit properly. No surface corrosion to any of the wheel arches or behind the rear wheels, all is perfect. All light fittings are in good order with no cracks, condensation or water ingress. No rot or blisters around the glass or windscreen, the windscreen itself with no cracks, chips or cloudy delamination in the corners or borders. Fitted with the later style 'bridge' spoiler which has perfect rubber trim and perfect sides around the glass. All is well with this 944, it would pass a judgment at any show with flying colours and top marks for condition and details. Interior & Boot The first thing you notice in the cabin is the steering wheel which looks like new. All driving controls including the gear shifter are in perfect order. Excellent condition seats with only a tiny mark on the driver chair bolster. All direction switches for the chairs are in working order. All directions for each wing mirror is in working order. The LCD clock is fully functional. The interior carpets to boot and floor are as good as you will find with just a hint of patina, the dash is in excellent condition uncracked. The removable sunroof is in working order. Fitted with a lovely set of mats as new and a Porsche air freshener to finish. Inside the boot the carpets are clean, there are no missing carpet push-in tacks and no missing buttons on the carpet. The rear seats are the later split/fold type so it has a soft fabric rear blind similar to that you'll find in a 928 instead of the earlier roller blind. Noting the blind is in good order and is not faded. Under the boot carpet you'll find a perfect condition spare wheel and tools. The tool roll has no rust whatsoever and is complete with bright shiny chromed tools. Sunroof bag and sunroof net are both present as is the spare wheel bag and original Porsche suitcase style air compressor for inflating the spare wheel. Further, noting no rot or corrosion around the boot latches and the rubber trim in perfect condition and the gas struts hold the weight the boot lid up effortlessly. This is a loved car and it is obvious anywhere you look. Wheels & Tyres Perfect unmarked Design '90 alloys with lovely crisp edges and crisp numbers by the valve, each one has an original metal centre cap in perfect order and lovely black wheel bolts with no corrosion. Tyres are Toyo Proxes x4 all with good deep treads. Top marks for attention to detail. Summary A real prize. You would be hard pushed to find a nicer 944.. you may find one in similar condition or equally 'as good as it gets'. Very doubtful you could find another Crystal Silver car in this condition. The mileage should be disregarded, it's just a number..this 944 is timewarp stuff. This history file, drive and condition are the making of dreams. A complete package - wipe it down, put it in your garage and relax in the knowledge that you have a prime example in the 944 race. I'd keep this one myself if I could.
