1991 Porsche 944 S2 Coupe - Final
Edition AFN London Car Bearing 1st Registered Plate Original Superb Condition 20 Stamp Service Record Top End Rebuild An Appreciating Example To Keep J16 AFN was first registered 30.08.1991 by AFN Porsche in London. This was a company demo for the first 8 months bearing its dealer issued number plate that has stayed with the vehicle its whole life never being subject to any number transfers. This car is complimented with a huge history file having been maintained by recognized outfits such as Lancaster Bow, Jaz and Hartech. Six owners in total and been in continuous use throughout its 27 years with no gaps, the history file is complete with MOT and servicing bills that date back to first year of use, an incredible record. Finished in Titanium metallic the colour is fantastic and for me the colour is key to the model. Accompanying the service book (20 stamps plus 11 other supplementary stamps for belts and fluids) is an equally impressive array of bills this has been a loved car. The bill of sale is even present documenting the sale to the first owner. Chassis : WPOZZZ94ZMN401032 Engine : 42M02301 Mileage : 108,000 Options - Titanium Metallic - Porsche script comfort seats - Bridge Spoiler - Headlight washers - Windshield green graduated tint - Sunroof Recent Maintenance The car wants for nothing looking and driving exactly as it should thanks to knowledgeable enthusiastic owners and those that are prepared to spend. This is a sharp S2 to drive with quick pick up. Within the last 80000 miles I have set out below just some of the more major points covered, this being the tip of the iceberg. In 2014 just 4000 miles ago the head was removed, sent for machine work, rebuilt with new new gaskets and fluids, new water pump and all belts renewed at cost of £2250. Brake and tyre condition good. - Clutch replaced 6000 miles ago - Steering rack reconditioned - New steering rods - New inner and outer rods - New pair of front wheel bearings - Wishbones removed and reconditioned - New ball joints - New radiator - Full Geometry by Ninemeister Having owned scores of these models I feel I know a good one from an average car and this is the best S2 I can recall driving point to point. It absorbs the road with grace, the major controls and gear change operating in an effortless synchronized harmony, when they are right they are so right putting other sports cars from the era to shame, it still feels exciting. Condition The metallic finish is very appealing with little imperfections other than the odd mark with no corrosion. A light detailing session reveals an honest car with clean paint work and no disappointing cosmetics. All the black work and seals that can perish over time are in fine order. The interior carpets to boot and floor are as good as you will find with just a hint of patina. The dash is in excellent condition and all switchgear works as intended with no holes or gaps or poor fit, its all as tight as factory new. The engine bay is especially tidy having benefited from some deep cleaning and refinishing of specific areas during rebuild. Peel the carpet away in the boot to reveal how original it truly is with all labels and factory seams. I have inspected the underside and was amazed at how clean and dry it is. Anyone would struggle to source a better S2 and one that is properly set up ready to be enjoyed.
