964 C2 Targa
For many the definitive 911, due to dwindling availability the 964 Targa
is a much sought after model & appreciating in price rapidly. The driver
involvement and road feedback is something sadly lost in the modern day
car so driving this 964 on a sunny day has a freedom and connection with
the road that the coupe lacks and should this require explanation then
the point will be wasted on you. This late ` 91 3.6 Carrera is among last
of the superb 964 series and this example with such fantastic original
condition and low mileage is surely to be coveted and cherished.

The Drive
The engine runs beautifully with excellent oil pressure. Gear change is
tight & supple. On the road manners are impeccable with sure grip from
the quality tires, the whole experience is very tight and solid a clear
indicator of the very low miles and ride which is second to none with
original 16 " rims providing a comfortable experience on a level that
the 17 " alternatives can never replicate. The whole impression is of
a car that still feels box fresh moving as one whole piece with excellent
suspension and a note able muted exhaust, it so civilised its not true,
just that faint Boxer engine purr...

Note : The car currently sits on the 16 " d90 style alloys which it was delivered
with new as in the first image, at some stage it was wearing 16 " Cups and I
have these for it too, so its a case of which you prefer, given they are
both Porshe spec rims they ride equally well on either option.

The last owner has cherished his hard earned Porsche for the last 11
years keeping it garaged throughout the winter and having it routinely
serviced and maintained enjoying the summers, he did not want to part
with it however a business venture proved too enticing and here we are.

The servicing is up to date with a May 2016 mot and the original Red
service booklet has 20 stamps being attended to by RPM in Glasgow to a
high standard (see below for recent spend). In addition I have a folder
full of bills going back over the years plus every mot from new adding
up to a wholly great story.

Externally the coachwork is gleaming with no problem areas and its tidy
underside too. Crucially the car is the correct shade of Guards Red
with no mismatch panels or poor paintwork. Every panel is original with
the factory B posts still in place with manufacturer's nipple and labels
to b post and under bonnet. The inner wings and front load area under
the carpets reveal a totally original example as it rolled out of Stuttgart.
Aboard the cabin time has literally been standing still with no wear
indicators to seats doors cards or any leathers worth comment, a particularly
sharp vehicle internally with original carpets and mats in wonderfully
preserved order which is the general theme throughout, all in full working
order.

Service Information
As above though some decent jobs and overhauls have been carried out of
late for peace of mind and all documented in the file. The last major service
was a year ago which included a good inspection with a complete strip down
of the braking system, removal and cleaning of the exhaust system and
the under pans. All 12 plugs replaced, the filters changed and a new drop
link. Some other jobs over recent years below.

nothing other than a pleasure to be handling and have grown very
fond of gazing and marvelling at the utter originality
of it, the classic clean lines offer a simplicity that is perhaps not
yet fully appreciated truth be told, a car that captivates you very
easily and truly deserves a climate to be kept in.
