An Appreciating Model To Keep
The pinnacle of Porsche's continuous development of its original 4cyl
water cooled front engine, even today for the purist driver it remains
a sensation almost unequalled in any other Sports car. The 968 is the
ultimate evolution of that classic formula that had been refined since
the late 70s.

First registered 01.08.1992 by Lancaster Porsche this is one of the earliest
968 cars to bless the UK roads. Finished in flat Grand Prix White the colour
suits the model so well as does the tiptronic gearbox which gives the
driver the option of lazy or spirited driving mode, it suits the peaky
power of the engine very well indeed. The service record makes very good
reading being maintained by OPC and other independents. Accompanying the
fully stamped service book is an equally impressive presentation folder with
£000s of bills and all previous mots. The most recent keepers have been lifelong
Porsche enthusiasts and Tipec members and the car has attended regular shows
as an entrant, it has truly been a loved car.

Recent Maintenance
The car wants for nothing looking and driving exactly as it should thanks to
knowledgeable enthusiastic owners and those that are prepared to spend. 9
months ago £2241 was spent replacing the complete torque tube which is a
significant overhaul involving more than 20 hrs labour, this was done by
George Morrison motors in Glasgow a highly qualified Indy. A few months
before that the owner elected to replace the exhaust system with a custom
stainless steel cat back system with a mid sports growl that hits the
note just perfectly greatly adding to the driving appeal.

In Oct 15 and at 93436 miles the cam belt and water pump were replaced, all
tensioners and idlers and the balance belt. In addition the alternator and PAS
belts were changed, oil and filter, air and fuel filters, spark plug change,
rotor arm and distributor cap, and a brake fluid and coolant change, a major
seeing to. Also quite recently the gearbox fluid has been changed with new
filter sealing gasket and O ring. All brake components in excellent condition.
This all backed up with original invoicing. As such this 968 is rather well set up
and is a turn key ready to perform Sports car.

Condition
The flat White paintwork is truly stunning with no imperfections. A light
detailing session reveals a truly original car with quality paintwork and
no disappointing cosmetics. The alloys refinished in White also with Gold
crested centres and a Club Sport decal substantially add to the appeal.
All the black work and seals that can perish over time have been replaced
with OEM parts and look as new. The interior carpets to boot and floor are
as new. The dash is in excellent condition and all switchgear works as
intended. The leather is well fed and again in excellent condition having
being well treated. The engine bay is truly immaculate. Peeling the carpet
away in the boot reveals how original it truly is as the images all suggest.
I have inspected the underside and was amazed at how clean and dry
it is with no corrosion and needless to say, no leaks. Anyone would struggle
to source a better 968 and one that is properly set up ready to be enjoyed.
This car will pass any inspection and reckon it to suit even the fussiest of
standards.
