The last visit to Porsche was 18months ago and this was a Major service. The IMS and RMS have been replaced by Elite Porsche in Kent and should pose no threat to future ownership. C4 or C2 This is the rarer and desirable 4 wheel drive car with Tip' gearbox and a classic colour scheme to be found in superb used condition. In 4 wheel guise the vehicle is utterly planted and when the weather turns foul it soaks it up. As a drivers car I personally prefer the 4 over the 2 in that the slight extra weight lends a more balanced feel to the front end which is likely to wander at higher speeds in the C2. Condition The coach work is superb with minimal marks & little in any way that belies its age. Everything is working order as Porsche intended. The coach work presents remarkably well with gleaming paint work, and level panels that are free from dings and it presents with a depth of shine having being highly detailed. All factory labels present the most important of which being the white label on underside of the bonnet. Tyres/Alloys The rims are in fine order with very few marks and the correct Silver anodised finish. The quality tyres all have super deep treads 4 x Michelin Pilot Sports, widely regarded as the very best N3 rated rubber for the car. Great to see as it shows an enthusiastic no compromise attitude towards a loved vehicle. Summary Stunning highly appointed generation 2 996 Carrera with the obvious advantages that the later more powerful engine merits. The combination of convertible and Tiptronic works really well, makes it an ideal touring car and one better suited to traffic situation's. Having owned many manuals and tips I can say that I prefer the Tip, this only comes with experience though. Buy a good one now while they are still affordable.
