3.6 Face lift Model
This is the engine of choice the reasons which I am sure you will find well
debated online if need be. The extra power is noticeable creating an involving
driving experience, the fast motor slips nicely into a very dainty sharp body.
Other key upgrades were the exterior lenses in the later models are all clear
alongside improvements aboard the cabin. 3.6 cars are much sought after with
superb reliability, the engines also sounds just a bit different with more of
a hard edged snarl.

Service History & Maintenance
The service book is the original item with the white labels. Its well stamped
up detailing 8 engine services and 5 brake fluid changes. There is a folder
neatly presented with bills going back the last 7 years and all

This 996 handles beautifully with perfect driving dynamics and rock solid
stability thanks to the correct rubber being used. Tyres are crucial
to the performance of any 911 and these cars do not perform at their best
without the correct rated tyres. Recent matching set of definitive Michelin
Pilot Sport N3S fitted and the balancing and tracking are just fine. As
mentioned above the alloys are expensive to properly refurbish as the alloy
wheels actually two pieces that split, the cost to do this was over £700
just completed with a perfect Diamond Cut finished lip.

Condition
The coachwork is superb with minimal marks & little in any way that belies its
age, very little to disappoint and it will surely look good in any stable.
Everything in excellent working order as Porsche intended. Having covered
less than a mere 5000 miles per year as an average the engine is in sound
order with superb power.

Summary
You could spend double this money and get only half the car, and this kind of
money in a good 911 is no gamble at all! The right 996 models with the safe
specification and all the right bits and bobs have stopped depreciatring and
if anything are more than just holding firm, try and source another car with
these miles in this spec and you will soon discover that the right purchase is
harder than you may think to find.
