First registered and pre delivery inspected by Jaguar/Daimler dealer 

Mead of Burnham in Slough 22-09-1995. This a 3 owner car with the 

second owner owning it for more than 12 years. Its a pampered Jaguar that  

has always been garaged and retains its original paint that is is in 

stunning condition in every detail right down to the factory hand painted 

coach line that runs the lengths of both sides. This is dare I say it a 

one in a blue moon example, those of us who seek out and appreciate the 

best of a model can set their sights firmly on this X300. Note the very rare 

optional upgrade Lattice alloys that set the look, was there ever a better 

dish for the hub.  

This X300 - Total Originality 

Not too many X300 models about as the production line was rather short,  

many argue ( myself included ) that this is the best of all the XJ models, 

the Jaguar/Ford collaboration managed to re-skin it in such a way as to  

provide a true successor to the much-loved Series 3 XJ. The cars lines 

are stately, the front of the car being redesigned significantly to return  

to four individual round headlamps that provided definition to the sculptured 

hood, it is and was many people idea of what a true luxury car is and should 

be. This together with the almost bombproof mechanics and relatively simple 

electronics adds up to a model that is sure to please in many ways. Asking 

good money for this X300, ans they are on the up price wise and this is  

seriously the best example I have ever seen, collector quality.

On The Road  

Drives superb or rather glides, the horizon moves towards you rather than vice  

versa. A true Jag feel lost in many modern day set ups. The last 2 owners were  

JEC members and treated the car with real grace, its always been garaged which 

is evident by the perfect paintwork with zero corrosion issues. On the road I 

cannot fault the way this car drives and there is nothing of concern that I would 

want to do upon purchase, dare I say nothing to improve upon. Drives better than  

just well with an effortless ease, lots of lazy torque from the straight six,  

pace and grace as they used to say, moves as one piece which is the hallmark of  

any tight well maintained machine, every bush is tight and taut and the whole 

experience is very relaxing. You don't need the 4.0 litre believe me, its all 

about being smooth in a Jag. 

Cosmetics - Beautiful mark free body 

The paintwork is excellent and not the typical rubbish you might expect, it 

presents a high gloss finish all round with virtually no marks at all- that is  

no marks chips dents or scratches. A beautiful original finish as keeping it  

clean and garaged was the gentlemens habit, glass work and external rubbers  

all well preserved. The color is a desirable Jaguar classic, this shade of Blue  

suits the lines of the XJ so well and people always rightly pay a premium for  

this color. 

Alloys/Tyres

The wheels are in excellent order retaining that original diamond cut finish to 

the lips and the tyres are the correct matching Pirelli P6000s, an important 

detail on an XJ. These rims alone in this condition are worth well over £1000 

in their own right.  

Aboard 

The cabin is poker straight and unspoiled in keeping with the low miles, the  

chairs are excellent with no wear to note. Leather steering wheel and gear  

shifter are superb with no wear to the colour or finish. The preservation  

inside is tremendous, and all systems working and go, central locks and windows 

are in great working order, nothing is compromised.  

Service Information  

The original supplied service booklet is present containing 5 stamps. All the  

stamps are Jaguar dealer however the owners have elected to do a lot of  

maintainence themselves given their knowledge of the marque. The levels are 

perfect and the car was oil serviced at time of MOT this including a gearbox  

oil change and a proper Jaguar approved battery fitted, it has had light use  

since. There are no warning lights on, and having used the car personally at 

length over the last few days there is nothing at all outstanding, rather a 

rare proposition for an 23 yr old vehicle. In addition there is a complete 

MOT history right back to the late 90s.  

The Last Word 

It remains one of the most recognizable cars on the road and driving it is a  

satisfying experience. Its reliable, well built and very rewarding to drive. 

Driving the XJ along twisty roads is wonderful, the steering is very  

precise and provides good feel at speed, at the same time, the steering 

remains light to the touch at low speeds, making driving around town and 

in parking lots a bit easier. Jaguar's XJ makes a statement when it rolls onto  

any scene, it just arrives, still managing to remain one of the prettiest cars  

on the road and driving it is a satisfying experience, yes you can buy other  

luxury sedans in this category with similar performance for not a lot of money,  

but you won't find another that comes close to looking anything like this,  

and that really is the point of any well presented Jaguar, if you are charmed  

by its looks, then there is no alternative.
