Key to the appeal is the time proven engine, whether pottering at 2000 rpm or right up top at 8200 rpm, its just fantastic everywhere, this coupled with the driver input required from the 6 speed manual and its a vehicle that is very difficult to trump in any area. This is among the last of the proper analogue V8 manual cars ever made, the likes of which we will never see again, the political climate dictates that vehicles such as these belong to an era that was the Golden age for high performance drivers cars. It has been extremely well serviced and sits on quality new tyres and genuine brake components which in my experience is always the first thing to get skimped on. Striking looking Avant with a complete story with nothing missing, certainly a future classic these models are drying up and have stopped depreciating. At its finest in Deep Misano Red Pearl, this being a difficult and rare colour to source. Key to this cars appeal are the subtle performance enhancements that take it to the next level in terms of sound and handling, (detailed below). The added peace of mind is present as its been fitted with a brand new engine by Audi dealer at 49000 miles, so the engine has done less than 20,000 miles. As such this example is worth a premium, fortunes have been spent, the most recent owner was a serial car enthusiast spending fortunes maintaining and honing it. Service History & Recent Expenditure - 8 services - £24000 Worth Of Bills The service book is fully stamped, I have checked virtually every aspect of it. Clear read on the diagnostic, no fault codes and no faults. All service stamps are pictured. Some of the most recent major expenditure is detailed below. There is a complete spread of paper bills complimenting the service stamps right back to when new together with a full MOT history. The total of documented bills amounts to over £24000. - Matching Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres all round - New front discs and pads - New rear discs and pads - Air con regas - Full graphic wheel alignment - Alloys professionally restored New Engine Fitted By Aberdeen Audi - Cost £15300 In October 2013 the owner was unfortunate enough to have the oil cooler pipes burst dumping all the oil out the engine. The vehicle was recovered and taken to the dealer who replaced the oil cooler and the pipes only to find the engine knocking. Instead of rebuilding anything the decision was made to have a brand new engine fitted at a cost of over £15000. This was at 49572 miles so the new unit has not even covered 20,000 miles. Needless to say it performs like a new car. This is fully documented and I have pictured the paperwork relating to it in the gallery. The RS4 The cars compact executive body subtly underplays its remarkable performance potential. A compact 4.2-litre eight-cylinder powerhouse that delivers a peak output of 420bhp with Zero to 62mph acceleration dispatched in 4.8 seconds, onto an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. However its far from just being a one-dimensional car, it provides a comfortable and functional cockpit, fine-quality materials and upscale conveniences. Its trump card for me is its adaptability, it sounds utterly fantastic, and when the weather turns foul its has tractional qualities that are truly inspiring for a driver. The RS4 is a car that makes sense in such a wet country as ours. With all wheel-drive traction and a whole raft of electronic safety measures, its effortlessly secure, a combination of big power, damp roads and an enthusiastic approach wont phase it at all. Don't miss this opportunity, examples such as this rarely become available on the used market. As one would expect, with a stock 420-horse V8, performance is thrilling whether highway or winding back roads, crucially this one has not been driven hard, it has covered little mileage and significantly has been well treated and well serviced, an expensive car new and it has not been skimped on with 3 previous owners that were prepared to spend. High Specification Very highly appointed, the abundance of specification is not all standard on the RS4 model. The Milltek exhaust is a real treat, its non resonated so its not brash, just deep. Other enhancements have been added as listed below, the main event is the suspension upgrade which is extremely comfortable and inspiring though note that the car already had the factory option Super Sports suspension. No scratches dings or stone ships observable. The paint is in a high state of preservation requiring no remedial work or any improvement. The alloys are also immaculate. The chrome is all highly shined. This one is in show condition in out and roundabout. Interior Audi interiors are some of the finest in the luxury car arena, one look at the RS4's cabin and the high quality of materials used is quickly apparent. Tasteful accents abound, the serious performance intentions of the Audi RS4 are reinforced by standard Recaro front seats which feature aggressive bolstering to hold one in place during spirited runs through the twisties. These are rarer and more comfortable alternative to the wingback options. The cabin as is clearly visible from the many pictures is in excellent condition and in full working order. Summary A genuinely outstanding pampered car that looks magnificent, smooth, supercar rapid when prodded, stylish and luxurious all set to a glorious V8 soundtrack. Over the next few years, as the number of original RS4s on the road continues to dwindle, values will start to rise - so buying a top example now could prove a good long-term investment. And when the mood takes you, and those roads are quiet, Audi's genre-defining RS4 Avant delivers a blast from the past that still has most contemporary rivals outclassed.
