Very obviously always been cherished and garaged it has escaped the ravages of time. A general walk around this car and a study of its history will leave you in no doubt. Most if not all of the parts are compatible with the 500 so its a cheap car to run and service. A decent spread of recent bills with dealer parts always being used and a full MOT history from 1999 right through to present with no gaps. This is a 3 owner car current owner for the last 14 years with 13 documented engine services with Mercedes dealer and qualified specialist Mercedes technicians. The mileage is a low 102000 miles, a summary of some of the bigger jobs undertaken with supporting paperwork in the last few years is as follows; - Just been serviced at Mercedes dealer in Grangemouth - Three o/s hydraulic suspension pipes replaced - New front brake discs - New front road spring - New rear road spring - New brake shoes - Fuel pump hoses replaced - Automatic gearbox serviced - New battery dealer supplied - Wheel bearing replaced - New throttle body The SL60 Incredibly rare, one of the first AMG-tuned cars the SL60 packs a modified 6.0-litre V8 which was rumoured to produce well over 400bhp (even if official figures quoted 381bhp). Together with a pumped-up bodykit and adaptive dampers, it commanded an enormous £110,000 price tag when new. These vehicles are quite simply a joy to drive. The high standard of build quality and durability defined the reputation that MB still exploit today despite it peaking at this moment. Considered one of the last real Mercs, some of the safest roof-down motoring available in a classic vehicle. The engine starts on the button and the throaty roar of the AMG-tuned 32-valve six-litre V8 quickly makes itself known. Very limited numbers, this elusive model has been hotly tipped as the next Blue chip Mercedes investment in recent documented articles. 1 of 49 rhd cars worldwide with a total build of only 633 cars made, in a world where numbers mean everything this will surely mean something. The appeal of these cars lies in the teutonic build quality and arguably the best analogue V8 engine Merc ever made. A superior drivers car to the V12 and a more composed handling car to the rarer SL72, the sweetest of spots, this is the best Sports SL ever made. Condition The conditon of my SL60 is pretty much excellent in all departments. The paint is in first class order, as are the interor leathers and plastics which are very hard wearing. The boot and cabin are very clean. The soft top is in first class conditon having been a garaged car as is the hard top. As good as it gets. Alloys/Tyres The alloys are the genuine lightweight article, they benefit from just having been professionally restored. The diamond cut finish is just perfect, these Mercedes splits are widely regarded as the best looking wheel ever made for the model and have a chunk of value in their own right. Brand new (just fitted) matching Dunlop SP Sport GT tyres all around. Summary There never was a car like the SL60 in the annals of motoring history, there probably never will be again. The market has woken up to what these elusive examples represent and this is a unique car fresh to the market. The SL is the best example of substitution in the classic world, meaning that those who are priced out of one generation automatically look at a newer generation that is more affordable. The R129 s depreciation has finally bottomed out. I have probably overstressed the message already, however this is an outstanding Mercedes. The classic colour scheme can only enhance the long term residual of this enduring classic that should now rightly be wrapped away being brought out on dry days, a superb investment. Difficult vehicles to value, this is fairly priced for what is the best of cars that is in stock condition - £33995. This is substantially less than comparable models advertised.
