The 300bhp five-pot turbo engine is driven through an all-wheel-drive chassis with adaptive damping. The Haldex-type four-wheel drive uses an electronically controlled clutch pack to distribute torque between the axles. The V70’s handling is safe rather than inspiring, with good turn-in and grip which makes for excellent press on driving when the mood takes you. Of course, being a Volvo safety underpins many of the options which is exactly what you want for moving the family around in, nobody does it better. Fitted as standard with an Active Performance Chassis, with three settings – Comfort, Sport and Advanced – each of which adjusts the handling balance within milliseconds. Rammed full of all the specification you will ever need and an absolutely superb amplified Hi-Fi system with 10 speakers. First registered and pre delivery inspected by Riders Volvo in Truro on 15.07.2003. It wears all its original paint having never been involved in any accidents or mishaps. The cherished number stays with the car. Service History - 15 Stamps A summary of the history is detailed below. It's had plenty of work done to it. Pretty much all the front end is new including the electronic Monroe shocks that adjust with metal particles and electrical current to accommodate 3 levels of suspension (comfort, sport and Advanced). This is rather important for these cars now at this age, and it’s very costly. The work below returns the vehicle to as new driving feel at the front, and cost about £2000 to put right. The cambelt was replaced at 96000 miles by Charlwood Volvo. Nothing is outstanding, all the tyres were replaced 3 months ago. Working air conditioning as well as the superb standard premium amplified sound system with graphic equaliser. Perfect headlining, immaculate leather seats, door cards, door shuts and inners. The boot is as new and the engine bay is stunning in every detail as well as bonnet underside. The underside of the car is rock solid. The carpets are all like new and finished with the correct branded Volvo deep pile carpet mats. The stereo system is really powerful possessing a clarity only seen now in modern-day high-end systems. Body The bodywork really is in fantastic condition for any car never mind one this age. The cabin is all perfect and everything works exactly as it should. The paint is excellent without any mark’s worth comment at all. The alloys are original and have some marks, however £250 sorts that, all the tyres are thick with tread. Drive Super-fast and the ultimate wolf in sheep's clothing, capable of superb performance if and when required and excellent traction & grip though equally with the ability to return an incredible 30 + mpg on the run, tried and tested. This is an awesome driver even for a 16-year-old car, however that was how they were made, to last. Not a knock or a bang from any suspension components, no disappointment, all electrics in excellent working order.
