2003 ALFA ROMEO 156 2.5 V6 SPORTWAGON 6
SP MANUAL AROC Member Owned With Incredible History File Rare Investment Modern Classic 1 Of 12 UK Cars Remaining Fantastic Italian Design The Italians are passionate about food, clothes and cars. True to form, Alfa Romeos have always raised the pulse a little higher - as did this Car winning car of the year on launch. The difference between this car and its predecessors however, was that it appealed to a wider cross-section of people than ever before. Style is key, it is this perfect balance that appeals every time you cast your eye. The contours flow from the silver shield on the bonnet, creating the impression that the 156 has been fashioned in a single stroke. There is no break between the glass and the bodywork; the rear door handles are integrated into the window shape, allowing this five-door sports tourer the slimline elegance of a sports coupe with the practicality of any other competitor. Ownership First registered and pre delivery inspected by Alfa Romeo Cleveland Cars in Aldershot, Hampshire to a Mr Taylor of Farnham in Surrey who owned the car for 13 years through to 2016 changing into his wives name half way through. Two other AROC enthusiast owners since then. This car has been lavished with care as the history file illustrates with a complete paper record all the way back to 2004 at its first oil change together with a total MOT history back to 2006. The most recent keeper (the 3rd) only parted with the car as he urgently required cash for a house deposit and has left me his contact details as he was so gutted he hopes to own the car again in the future. The original bill of sale is present detailing the options of metallic paint, cruise control, 10 disc cd changer and the impressive rare full Sports leather seats. Deep pile carpet mats finsh the interior nicely. Still wearing original supplied dealer plates. The Busso Engined Sportwagon The last of the real magic, the superb Busso V6, a true Alfa with the classic engine, 190bhp with and a quick throw six speed manual gearbox. This power plant is a very special piece of engineering, fluted cam covers, chrome plated inlet tracts and red crackle-finished Alfa Romeo scripts give the engine an exotic appearance, to live and drive it is as close as the majority of us will ever come to a Ferrari type ownership experience. 150mph and sixty in seven seconds flat, and it feels much quicker. Drop inside and you'll be treated to a classic Alfa Romeo interior, all cowled dials, and beautifully crafted leather work. Sited low in front is the long-throw six-speed gear change, there is a timeless elegance about the cabin that makes most rivals seem very mass market. Its an indulgent engine, one which encourages high revs, rewarding the driver with a genuinely stirring soundtrack. It also feels impossibly long legged, the torque allowing for a deep-lunged flexibility. You honestly do not know what you are missing. Service History A thick history file with all owners manuals, the file contains a consistent stream of paperwork from day one forward detailing no less than 15 oil changes with mainly Selina racing oil being used. Currently the car shows 94000 warranted miles. - 3 timing belt changes in total with invoices - Mot 27/2/19 with no advisories 39556 cambelt kit 63126 cambelt and water pump 78082 clutch slave cylinder 78121 custom fit stainless steel exhaust 79110 thermostat 80432 wishbones ( right and left) and brake discs all round 80494 alternator 83000 spark plugs by alfaworkshop 83765 handbrake cables 84375 4x brand new Pirelli P7 tyres 89970 service, cambelt + water pump, gear linkage clean and lubrication by Quicksale Sports and performance Italian specialist (11/6/18) Other recent work over the last 20k - New radiator - New rear shocks - New front suspension arm - New rear wiper motor - Brake fluid change - New wiper blades Rare in this spec, one of only 12 currently in use in UK according to howmanyleft. Featured in jan 2017 issue of auto Italia magazine (a copy will be included in the sale). V6 Alfas with this level of history and ones which are so complete in how they perform are a very rare thing. I doubt that any of the other 11 UK models will come close to the condition or history this one has, its truly a special collectible car. Condition The paintwork is totally original with no evidence of any remedial paint. Just the odd touch in mark which is rare for a vehicle of its age. The wheels are in excellent condition. The cabin is still like new with the leathers well fed and all systems work correct with no warning lights, its a pleasure to use. Find another one like it.
