Evocative eighties coupe well presented in Black with an clean grey cloth interior. The 2.2-litre 5-cylinder develops a useful 136 bhp with fuel injection and with four wheel drive is sharp and quick, the engine feels alive. Values of these early cars are rising sharply partly due to dwindling availability, and, the soar in price of the Quattro Turbo models helping to pull the socks up on lesser models. The 2.2 5 Cylinder Fuel injected engine was paired with front-wheel drive and a five-speed manual transmission. Developing 136 bhp, it does not sound much by todays standard however this car really fly’s, the delivery of the power keeps you pressing on. There’s a stiff spot in the accelerator pedal’s travel that tells you when you’ve begun to open the secondary throttle butterfly — and that’s when the five-pot music starts. Upon hearing its gnarly haunting exhaust note, you are helplessly transported to a rally stage where a Group B Audi Quattro might pass a throng of frenzied spectators, the five pot being one of the most evocative engines Audi ever made. Investment - Time has stood still for this Audi Becoming an endanegerd species, all original, never been meddled with other than a superb Scorpion stainless steel exhaust system that has brought the 5pot alive. E432 ARO The initial owner was a Mr. Taylor of Industrial Printing service ltd in Letchworth. His company owned the Quattro from new up to late 1994 (7 years). She was then sold to Mr. Jordan, also residing in Letchworth. He was the custodian from late 1994 to 2003 (9 years). Mr. Jordan was the most fastidious of owners, The Audi was looked after exclusively by Autolube Letchworth during his tenure with an engine tune report to coincide with every year of his ownership (detailed below). There was then a short ownership period of about a year for Mr. Kellan of Cambridge before the car moved North to Scotland with Mr.Campbell of Kilmarnock who acquired ARO in June 2004, 15 years ago. Original bill of sale from Letchworth Autoway Centre Ltd. (NOT A COPY) dated 14th October 1987, totalling £16,985.15 and settled by cheque on the 15th October 1987. This was the official Audi dealer in Hertfordshire back then, now relocated and renamed Hitchin Audi. ARO was originally sold to Industrial Printing Services Ltd in Letchworth so truly a local sale. There is a perfect copy of the Audi coupe GT showroom brochure, a 25 page glossy that shows all the details of the vehicle and has all the colour swatches displayed at the end. Topically the poster boy throughout the brochure is a Black Coupe GT Quattro! Complementing this is the Audi Coupe technical specification supplement which shows the specification and statistical differences between the 112bhp coupe GT, the 136bhp Coupe GT and the 136bhp Coupe GT quattro. An equipment update from Audi details the addition of ABS, green tinted glass, electrically heated and operated driver and passenger door mirrors and the addition of a sunroof for the 1987 model year Quattro. Service History The service book is original and complete and still retains its Build Chassis Sticker on the inside cover with the first owners details recorded accurately.
