1993 AUDI S2 QUATTRO TURBO COUPE 6SP MANUAL Unrepeatable 93117 Miles - 1 Lady Dr Owner 13 Service Stamps + 19K Documented Receipts The Absolute Best Of Whats Left First registered and pre delivery inspected by Whites Audi dealer on 01.08.1993 to a Mrs Habbi of London. This is a matching numbers car as it left the factory. Incredibly this is a one owner car with zero previous keepers, it has never changed hands once and has been beautifully cared for and stored in that time with an excellent service record, no accidents or bumps, never been interfered with or uprated and all the better for it. I handle lots of classic cars however this has me rather excited. Factory standard in every detail. Never been abused bumped or welded and reported as being garaged its whole life which is wholly consistent with the preserved condition. Probably the most original example in the country. Remarkable preservation inside and out. Drives and sounds fantastic. Must be driven and seen to be appreciated. Audi book pack with all manuals and two keys with two security pins. Very rare, stunning, low mileage and original example. Chassis no WAUZZZ8BZPA006149 Engine no ABY002150 Specification - Schwartz Black (solid) - Black Leather - Carbon pack - Mint 2 tone 16 " Audi Speed lines - Factory Fitted Electric Sunroof - Fitted Mats Service History 13 service stamps in the service book with £19000 of documented receipts. In 2011 there was a documented speedo change (old clock still present) at 84278 miles so the new Speedo reads circa 8k bringing the total guaranteed mileage to 93117 miles which is nothing for these engines. Only recognized specialists have been servicing and no expense has been spared in upkeeping this car with the best of tyres brakes and components. A summary of some of the juicer stuff is below. - In 2011 the cylinder head was stripped down due to an engine pulley breaking and the valves crashing. The work was comprehensive and carried out by No5 garage a Porsche specialist 7000 miles ago. This included ; - Downpipe gaskets - Turbo gaskets - Cam cover seals - Electric water pump - Cylinder head gasket - Exhaust manifold gasket - Oil seals - O rings - Valve stem seals - Crank pulley - Radiator mount - Inlet valves - Head bolts - Spark plugs - Cambelt - Cambelt link chain - Throttle body Other recent work has included ; - Differential serviced - New waste gate control valve - New Aux cooling radiator - New Pirelli P7 tyres - Full MOT Aug 2019 The car is designed for someone who really appreciates the nature of it, permanent 4 wheel drive and 230bhp does not sound much today though it was cutting edge 25 years ago, the build quality is class leading, and is a very well engineered package, a joy to drive and a unique driving experience. The mechanicals in this model are stuff of legends, we hear stories of monstrous mileages without overhauls, it is silken through a silky drivetrain and surefooted silent 4 wheel drive. These cars are legendary now, with the UR models fetching big money these cars still have a long way to go in terms of appreciation, safer than any money in the bank. Upon hearing its gnarly, haunting exhaust note, you are helplessly transported to a rally stage where a Group B Audi Quattro might pass a throng of frenzied spectators, the five pot being one of the most evocative engines Audi ever made. Finding one today is difficult — and locating an unmodified example that has never been abused or had the panels removed is nigh impossible. The 90’s all-business cabin is pure Germano-functional luxury. The interior also contains a trio of gauges made by VDO that were common to the era’s autobahn missiles, but closer inspection reveals two buttons that you’ve never seen in a BMW or a Mercedes: one to disengage the antilock brakes and one to lock the rear differential. It’s safe to say that the S2 was conceived at a time when Audi was struggling to find its identity — the brand was still buzzing from its domination of the World Rally Championship, but it was also trying to make inroads into the luxury-car market. Of this existential struggle, there is no better example than the S2 Quattro 20V. The 20V engine was paired only with all-wheel drive, sports suspension and a six-speed manual transmission, confirming this as the driver’s car of the 90s lineup. The 2.3-liter five-cylinder is bulletproof and rewards the driver in a way very few cars can. The 20V Turbo is a high-strung, all-wheel-drive, 155-mph autobahn stormer that derived its coolness from Audi’s rally heritage. A very special S2, all original, never been meddled with. These vehicles are already starting to reach iconic status and are contemporary classics already, to have this impressive and desirable low mileage one owner car is a treat and I have debated whether to keep it long term, if I don't get the money for it thats what will happen, it really belongs in a museum or part of a serious collection. The many detailed images should leave no doubt as to what we have here. |
