2000 W E39 BMW 523i SPECIAL EQUIPMENT 2.5 24V 6CYL AUTOMATIC Fantastic Detailed Service History - Show Standard 93000 Miles - 3 Owners From New Presents As A Virtual New Car High Factory Specification The Ultimate Modern Classic The best of what is left of the E39 cars are slow burbling Modern Classics and truly excellent prestige overengineered vehicles. Setting this car widely apart from other E39s is the fact it’s not a flashy model that’s been passed about half a dozen times and painted as regular as a council corridor. To the contrary, a tasteful SE model with the silky smooth 6-cylinder engine, widely regarded as the best 6-cylinder engine ever made by the manufacturer mated with the elusive manual gearbox. This 19-year-old BMW presents extremely well with beautiful paintwork that has no shortcomings. A complete story with all the keys tools and extras that it rolled off the factory line with. Of note, a lot of money has been spent recently to ensure that it drives and performs as good as it did when new. History Pre delivery inspected and first registered by N V Dekkers BMW dealer in Germany on 03.05.2000 and immediately imported to our shores being UK registered 18.05.2000 to a Mr Donnely of Grantham in Lincolnshire. He owned the car for 17 years until the second owner A Mr Bates of Woodhall Spa bought it April 17. During this time, it was always serviced at BMW dealers and specialist BMW service centres (detailed below). The most recent owner (number 3) paid £4000 for the car just one year and 3 months ago. A genuine motoring enthusiast who has a career with McLaren and was formerly a senior Mastertech with BMW having served his time in the 90s with them. Naturally the chap knew all about things BMW and essentially set about replacing many things on the car just because he knew how to and wanted it perfect able to run anywhere. Detailed below, starting with the most recent service at Aston Martin dealership in June this year is a summary of this. Much of it did not technically need doing, a lot of it preventative maintenance. - Oil and filter - Fuel filter - Differential oil changed - Auto transmission fluid changed/new sump pan - Power steering fluid changed - Brake fluid changed with new banjo washers - 4-wheel alignment Other work carried out and documented since July 2018 - Fuel cleaner treatment - New offside mirror glass (genuine at cost of £158) - Bosch wiper blades - New Lucas headlight bulbs - All 4 tyres replaced Feb 19 - New brake discs all round with new pads - New spark plugs - New genuine radiator - New coolant pipe - Coolant changed - New fitted carpet mats from BMW Condition - So Good, very difficult to illustrate with pictures. Cosmetically as the pictures bear testament to it is in excellent glossy order given its 19 years, the paint is superb with a wet look finish. Details I have tried to convey in the image gallery, its fine details such as unmarked seatbelts and bolsters, immaculate engine bay, boot, carpets and switchgear. The car drives sublime, it has a fine unused feel and an almost tangible depth to the engineering that is lost today. A study of the underside reveals a dry corrosion free car that is excellent. One that very much has to be seen and driven to be fully appreciated. This car has been maintained with a passion and carefully used cleaned and stored. All bushes and bearings feel as tight as the day it was new. Zero rust anywhere. The cabin remains 100 % box fresh with very clean leathers which should suit even the fussiest of tastes, the driver’s seat is unworn as pictured, the rear and boot area barely used, and the foot wells and rears of the seats and the mats are all clean and unspoiled. Everything in full working order. A car can cover a mile in different ways. Wheels & Tyres / Brakes Proper genuine 16 "rims, not cheap heavy poorly balanced imitations that compromise the ride. The wheels are in excellent condition having been recently refurbished. The spare 5th alloy looks never to have been on with a new Michelin tyre. Correct specification Michelin Primacy 3 rubber all round, front as new, rears about 6mm. Brake condition is excellent.
