This vehicle was originally supplied to the Japanese market and
has
benefited from the meticulous ownership and maintenance
standards
for which Japanese vehicles are renowned. As a result, the car
presents in exceptional condition throughout, with an underside
that is remarkably clean and corrosion-free. Those familiar with
high-quality Japanese imports will appreciate the difference
immediately. Imported Feb 2026 straight, sent for service & then
into a London collection. A sudden relocation forcing a very
reluctant sale.
Recent comprehensive service carried out by the Mercedes-Benz
specialists Klasse of Fulham, including a brake fluid & pollen
filter change.
There are zero issues, and it drives beautifully as new and
wants for nothing. It is ready to be enjoyed immediately by its
next owner. The alloys have a wonderful unmarked satin finish
with recent new wheel bolts.
All tyres are the definitve Continental extreme contact, the
current MOT is vaild until Jan 27 with no advise.
The vehicle is ULEZ compliant.
Finding a C55 AMG with this mileage, provenance, and condition
is
becoming increasingly difficult, making this a particularly
attractive
example for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
The Car
This is Porsche Carrera domain... If the C55 AMG was aimed
specifically
at the BMW M3, it blew its socks off with four doors. All this
achieved as discreetly as any Mercedes and with very little
wind noise. Maximum speed is electronically limited to 155 mph
and if
you are in tune with this machine it will return you a 0 - 60
time of
4.6 secs, de restricted it will top 190 mph. Extremely well
specified
and you can easily forget the massive reserves of this engine
just
pottering along in a perfect ambience. Replacing the C32 model
amg
upped the ante, the V8 is a transformation to a deep,
wonderfully
muscular exhaust note, but its the makeover in the dynamics that
stands
this super sports saloon apart. It cost 60k new, which
translates into
very very few of these models ever being registered, you just do
not
see them on the roads, an elusive machine. The engine built by
hand
and signed by the engineer, one man, one philosophy.
The Drive
Possesing a high degree of handling finesse, from the moment you
tackle
the first bend you know you are in a finely engineered machine.
In swapping
a 349bhp V6 for a 362bhp V8 amg also saw an opportunity to
maximize the
benefits of the chassis, the steering is seven per cent quicker,
doesn’t
sound much, but it’s more accurate and precise. The impression
of greater
agility begins here and is well supported by a 14mm-wider front
track,
20 per cent firmer springs and dampers, and with subtle
revisions to the
suspension the 55 feels much better sorted than the 32, and the
driver
thus more connected. It’s an altogether more satisfying and
natural performance
drive with exceptional body control. Predictably, the brakes are
massively
strong and thankfully, as it has to be expected to shrug of
speed instantly.
The 55 is bestowed with effortless energy, almost regardless of
speed,
that represents everything AMG stands for. It’s near-silent at
idle, but
the engine’s hard-edged intensity, when worked, is just right
for this
car. It also works brilliantly with the adaptive automatic
transmission
that offers the choice of manual shifting between buttons behind
the wheel
spokes, or the now-traditional Mercedes console selector, whose
action
is all the better for being noticeably more heavily
spring-loaded.
Living with the car on day to basis what is of constant surprise
is
the ability to eat road with only a light tap on the throttle,
hence
rewriting the idea of safe fast driving.
Styling
AMG’s subtle-muscle approach to the styling remains as strong as
ever.
Few will notice the understated C55, despite four oval branded
exhaust pipes
and an extended (by 80mm) nose, flatter grille and clear-lens
headlights,
plus the 2-style double-spoke alloys its remains a bit of a
ghost. Inside,
the biggest change is a welcome return to proper circular
instruments,
with white letters on a black background, a particular delight
in here is
a 200 mph speedo a reminder that will the car will do nearly the
clock.
Wheels
The twin spoke monoblock original lightweight amg 18 " rims are
in virtual
as new condition and are the correct balanced dish for the hub.
Recently
shod with a matching set of premium tyres. Everything is 100 %
balanced
from rest to three figures and beyond.
Interior
One of the best interiors of all time, and this car is as new
inside
with zero wear indicators and has never been smoked in or
abused. A thick
3 spoke steering wheel with shift paddles, amg faced gauges and
seats,
Harmon Kardon stereo system and everything thought out with
perfect
ergonomics. A clinical mature appeal to the whole cabin,
everything
is understated yet laced with menace. The chairs are some of the
most
comfortable you will ever sit in, pure quality and completely
unmarked.Service & Maintenance
Always serviced on schedule, all the history is present and the
boof fully
stamped. A low mileage hand built engine such as this will bring
no drama
for years & years to come.
Condition - Original Factory Paint
The entire car is virtually unmarked with no dents dings or
scratches
representing an extraordinary level of commitment by the
previous
enthusiast owner.
There are no issues cosmetically whatsoever that require
addressing, as
a matter of course I have treated the car to an intensive
AutoGlym Gold
lifeshine valet, inclusive of high definition sealant applied to
seal
and left for 24 hours for maximum effect. It must be stressed
that this
was a very clean car when it came into stock, however it merited
just
something extra special.

Summary
The 55 marks a small but perceptible shift towards a sharper
more
sporting focus, its ability to cruise serenely yet mug a corner
and
murder a straight is remarkable and terrifying, and even for the
press
on drivers out there it will scare you, it just runs out of road
and in
the real world there are very few opportunities when it can be
exploited
fully. A fabulous car on a personal level, and moreover this is
a mint
example and the perfect substitute for a 911 for someone who
does not
want to give up the thrill though must make allowances for
passengers.
Coming from the very best of homes, the previous keeper and the
servicing
garage are happy to confirm any of the above, this is very much
a used
purchase that requires no monies spending and being of the
highest quality
it should give much satisfaction to the new keeper, finding a
road in the
