1997 BMW M3 3.2 Evo Convertible

Humongous File of History
E36 M3
In used form this is a car that represents an achievable dream, a vehicle
that can
mix it with a 90's Porsche 911 yet still carry four in comfort. It's as
smooth and
refined as you want it to be whilst capable of genuinely startling
acceleration on
demand. Even by today's standard the 321 bhp allows the car to achieve sixty
in
under 6 seconds and onto a limited 155 mph. The mid range acceleration
remains
extremely impressive, the engine charging progressively harder and harder
this just
one of the defining characteristic's of the model.
The market will turn up a cars available in various guise, over the years we
have
traded them all, good, bad, exceptional and indifferent. The majority of
them have
fallen by the wayside, been scrapped, turned into track cars, stolen and
burned out,
exported etc. Of the cars left some will be tatty, some will be usable
running
restos.. - and a select number left will present in this condition. 3.2
Evolution
cars in manual form are highly desirable and are becoming increasingly
collectable.
Low mileage cars in this condition are a no-brainer proposition, with values
rising
steadily they represent a serious investment proposition. This car was first
registered in February 1997 and it has a factory Hardtop making it extremely
versatile with all the rigidity and comfort of a coupe and the wide open
freedom that
comes as standard.
The previous most recent keeper was a keen
enthusiast whom kept it for over 7 years,
lavishing it with the care expected upon an occasional use M toy. This is
not a car
that has been passed about like so many.

Probably the largest most complete history file for any car you will ever
see.
All presented within an attractive M striped presentation binder, a
chronological
record from day one of all expenditure, each service invoice, every MoT and
a
multitude of other related bills and misc. items, every item neatly filed in
it's
own individual poly pocket. A quick flick through shows a huge amount of BMW
bills
and a lifetime of enthusiast care, a file three inches thick.
The service booklet is present and with a total of 14 stamps, which will
soon be
15 once we have it freshly serviced again pre-sale.
It has been well maintained and wants for nothing. The drive is fantastic
with all
the power there on demand. Totally stock and unmodified. The six-speed is a
joy
and the clutch is perfect. Nice and tight with no rattles from the
suspension and
with the Hardtop on there is simply zero of the scuttle shake associated
with
convertible cars. Prod it hard and the M Power engine pulls like an aircraft
and
really flies pulling harder and harder as the revs climb, the double vanos
system
in perfect running order. This is an M car and it's right, we cannot fault
this car.
Condition
This is a rot free car and the underside is as immaculate as the top. No
rust on the
arches or dents anywhere. Just the odd stone chip to note of which there are
no real
huge amount. It's all one shade of bright red with zero fading, every panel
is
straight and all the body lines are perfect and it's all highly clean and
detailed
in every shut and orifice. No signs of previous damage or abuse in any
respect, this
really is not that sort of car at all.
The cabin is superb, Vader's are a welcome sight not often seen in a
Convertible and
suit the cabin so well. Everything is in working order. The steering wheel
is unworn
with the two shades of Blues and Red M stitch still bright and vibrant,
lovely!
Factory fitted Becker Grand Prix Hi-Fi has a connection for iPod for easy
streaming.
Wheels & Tyres
Original diamond cut factory finished Shuriken alloys have seen no kerbs. M
badges
present and all in great order. Matching spare wheel is equally as mint and
has
never been run. Tyres are premium Michelin Pilot Sport SX upfront and
Continental
Sport Contacts head up the rear with good deep treads all around. Exemplary.
