1990 MAZDA RX-7 TURBO II CONVERTIBLE Engine Rebuilt By Mazda Dealer 70,500 Genuine Miles - 4 Owners Incredible Service History £7933 Of Documented Bills Rare Appreciating Model RX7 Turbo Convertible Made in very limited numbers, this is an elusive model. The second generation with features a unique twin-rotary engine with rear wheel drive, it is a superb piece of engineering that if looked after properly is a hugely satisfying engine to pilot. The added turbocharger gives the RX a stock 200 bhp and a 5 speed manual gearbox. This may not sound much in todays world of huge bhp however this is a fast and lively car which requires a level of skill to motor quickly with a light and keenly balanced chassis. The convertible features a power folding roof and a heated rear glass window. With this model Mazda introduced the first integral wind blocker, a rigid panel that folds up from behind the passenger seats to block unwanted drafts from reaching the passengers - thereby extending the driving season for the car in open mode. The convertible also incorporates a folding leather snap-fastened tonneau cover. The roof assembly is precisely engineered and manufactured and drops into the ready body assembly as a complete unit, a first in convertible production. This is an absolute find of a car that I am sure needs no introduction to anybody reading this advert. The Turbo II convertible is extremely rare, there are currently very few licenced examples on UK roads and only one other example for sale on the open market, which is not on the same level as this car. The rotary engine performs superbly with perfect engine compression following an extensive rebuild by Mazda dealer at 53,419 miles, it sounds and performs like new. Condition Finished in stunning Graphite metallic with a black leather interior. This is in true time warp condition throughout. The paintwork is in excellent order and has no evidence of any of the usual corrosion issues you would associate with most models of this era. The alloys look incredibly fresh (yet still original), shod with a matching set of Uniroyal tyres. The boot is clean, the cabin is wonderfully preserved, the engine bay is a delight to gaze at. All the switchgear and knobs are present and correct with factory stereo unit and elec aeriel. The roof is original and has two areas of wear, this is pictured, it drops properly on command electrically and is watertight. The original BBS alloys incredibly retain the original diamond cut finish and are in excellent condition shod with matching Uniroyal tyres.
