2005 55 Jaguar XJR 4.2 Auto Saloon
(X350) Liquid Silver/Black Leather 20 " Sepang Split Rims Fantastic Condition The XJR 4.2 The seventh-generation XJ-series cars are the first aluminium monocoque structures to be built at Castle Bromwich since the Spitfire fighter aircraft during World War II. It's perhaps no coincidence then, that these XJ Jaguars are built using aerospace techniques (in this case bonded and riveted sheet metal with extruded and cast aluminium structural members) instead of around a space-frame concept. The car is 200 lbs lighter than its predecessor, with an interior nearly 20 percent larger and a structure 60 percent stiffer. Lighter is obviously better, lighter and more rigid are better yet, providing a more stable platform for the suspension and power train. And when you have 400 horsepower to harness, a stiff structure is essential. Together with an all-new aluminium body, the car's power train, a force-fed 4.2-liter V-8 six- speed automatic transmission helps churn out 399 pound-feet of torque at a relatively low 3500 rpm. Its a far sharper more powerful motor than its predecessor, its actually savage power when asked. This is for me the ultimate expression of British luxury and discrete power in one of the most iconic car designs. History This XJR had its pre delivery inspection on 11.10.2005 by W.E Sturgess Jaguar in Leicester and registered & delivered three days later on 14.10.05. It has had 3 owners and the total mileage covered is now 101,000 and the miles have been extremely kind to it, the car has been loved. The original service book details 10 individual service stamps plus the Pdi. The service history is almost all exclusively Jaguar dealer. It has never been in an accident with a clean HPi record and the panel gaps are bang on and the paintwork is well preserved. Servicing Recent work in the last few years is detailed below, this is over and above routine servicing. - Alloys Professionally refurbished ( As new) - Matching recent set of Dunlop SP Sport tyres - New genuine Red Jaguar centre caps - 4 wheel alignment - New brake reaction bushes - Alternator replaced/belt/tensioner/idler - Coolant changed - Battery replaced - Brake fluid changed - Wishbone bush replaced Condition The bodywork really is in fantastic condition for a car of this age and all the panels are ding and dent free, no scratches or disappointment and needless to say no rust on the arch lips or sills or where any of the panels meet. The interior is very straight with next to no wear. The woodwork is all perfect and everything works exactly as it should. The Black leather compliments the immaculate deep Burr wood extremely well, engine bay and boot are pristine. Other Information This is a real find and a customary search of the classifieds reveal very few other models for sale, the X350 R is now an appreciating asset as well as an utterly fabulous way to grace the highways and bye ways. Big cats flow like dark liquid in moonlight, and so do the lines of an XJR. You can buy other luxury touring saloons with similar performance, but you won't find another that looks anything like this. And that, really, is the point of any Jaguar. If you are charmed by its looks, then there is no alternative. Jaguar can do no wrong.
